The Game Rules

1) You must photograph something, any object you want*, for 100 days in a row.

2) If you skip a day photographing you have two options:
2a) You start your 100 days all over again.
2b) You use one of your two "Get Out of Jail Free" cards and shoot twice the next day.  (Notes: You only get two days to use these cards and they can not be consecutive.  You must shoot two different images the day following the skipped day.  If you skip a day early in the game you might want to just start over as it will be harder to catch up the further you get involved in the race, and as we all know, "life" happens sometimes.  If you use all two GOOJF and have to start over, you get two more cards.)

3) You may shoot any format you want.  It can be digital, film, pin hole, Polaroid, Calotype, Rayogram, scanning, camera phone, cross process, painting with light... and you may switch it up.

4) You can Photoshop your images, but you still must capture a new image of your subject every day.

5) You are to have fun with this project.

6) Once a week you will post a new image online. Or you can post a new image every day.

7) Blogs are available on this site; feel free to start one.  Basically we are looking for community support here.  We have a great group of people involved, so I am sure that will come quite naturally.

8) You may invite anyone you want into the game.  They may start late.  It is not the deadline we are looking at as much as it is the journey and what it took reach the destination along the way.

9) The person that follows all the game rules and shoots his or her subject for 100 days in a row will get LOUD bragging rights!  With this group there stands to be several of you/us!

10) The first day of shooting started Monday, August 15, 2005.  If I have done my math correctly, the winner(s) could be done as early as November 23,2005 (the day before the holiday season officially starts - how's that for inspiration?!)  If you don't have your subject by then, start as soon as you figure out what it is, you could still win.

11) You may start this project on a later date.

12) You are to have fun with this project. (just a reminder)

13) If 100 days is too much for a person to do, they are welcome to do a 30-day sprint that follows the same rules as the 100 days and can be started at any time.

*PLEASE NOTE: *Now, as a group, we have complete faith and respect for all images that are going to go up on the site, but what some of  you may not know is that this is going to be a family fun site too.  (Yes, we have some promising photographic teenagers shooting who are looking to beat all us in the "older generation" to the finish line.  This means, while you can shoot whatever you want and feel good about it, please do not post any  porn, bedroom photography (like glamour shots in the bedroom or with sexual undertones), or any photos that undermine the general intent and purpose of the site; which is to promote creativity through imaginative photography of an object. Really, we are just trying to make the site enjoyable for all so please know that if we see something that we believe won't align with our policy, we will remove it.  :)   There are plenty of other sites that will love to have these images, by all means feel free to post there.
